Founded in 1937, Birrfeld Airport has developed into the most important aviation sports and training centre in the canton of Aargau. Hard surface runways enable professional, year-round gliding and powered flight operations. Birrfeld airfield is home to the Birrfeld flying school and various flying groups. Around 230 motor and gliders, from vintage cars to the most modern training aircraft, have their base at Birrfeld.
